Album Review:Apathetic EP

Artist:Relient K

Genres:Religious, rock

Notes:Album art taken from Amazon.

General thoughts:Now things have gotten serious. Not a goofy track to be found. Just some contemplation about what you believe in, waiting for things to get better, and what's worth sacrificing something for.

Three of the tracks are acoustic versions of older songs. And to tell you the truth, they're not that good. There's also a track that they already released on a different album and one of which they later made a better version.

I'm gonna say buy the first two songs and be done with it.

Track Listing

1. The Truth
Thoughts:Do you ever have trouble believing something even if you know it is true? Pretty good.
2. Apathetic Way To Be
Thoughts:This is about being apathetic to things so you don't feel so hurt. Also good.
3. Be My Escape [acoustic]
Thoughts:This is about getting into a fight with someone and then needing their help. This version isn't that great.
4. Which To Bury, Us Or The Hatchet [acoustic]
Thoughts:This is another song about fighting with a friend or possibly a significant other. Mm, I prefer the original version because the style made it express the emotion behind the words better.
5. Overthinking [acoustic]
Thoughts:Another acoustic version of an older song, this time about ending an unhealthy relationship. It's the best of the acoustic songs, which isn't saying much.
6. In Like A Lion (Always Winter)
Thoughts:This is about waiting for good times to come in the midst of darkness. It's not bad, but it was also on Let It Snow Baby... Let It Reindeer. It'd be better to get that album.
7. The Thief
Thoughts:This is about a relationship you screwed up, now leaving you watching your love walk away from you. There's a longer, sadder version of this call "There Was No Thief". I'd recommend buying that instead.

So what was your opinion?
