Celebrate The Small Things:Thank God It's Friday

I'm happy it's Friday.

  • I finally deleted my Facebook account.
  • The dogs are starting to get along better. They're hardly best of friends, but we can put them in the same room without it turning into a biting/barking match.
  • Once again, Plants Vs. Zombies. I have been this game an awful lot recently. Minesweeper too.
  • Adventure Time's fifth season is on DVD.
  • Good food, specifically shrimp quesadillas and cotton candy ice cream.

Celebrate The Small Things:Friday Comes Fast

Wow, that week didn't last long.

  • I finally started to delete parts of my Facebook account and announce to my friends that I'm leaving it site soon. I should finish that either today or over the weekend.
  • The house is slightly cleaner (and less dusty) than it was, and I utilized extra storage space in my bedroom. Still more work to do, but we're off to a good start.
  • Got a handful of old pictures scanned and put on the computer.
  • Free TV episodes on Google Play. Not everything has been good, but I found one series that I liked.
  • Read some good blogs and articles, in part thanks to Patheos.
  • I'm finally doing better about visiting other blogs during these hops.

Movie Review:All Creatures Big And Small

Premise:Two young animals separated from Noah's ark try to survive as the flood encroaches on the land.

Cast:Callum Maloney as Finny, Ava Connolly as Leah, Dermot Magennis as Dave and Mr. Griffin, Amy Grant as Hazel, Martin Sheen as the lion, Paul Tylak as Obesey, Chris Evans (not that one) as Stayput, Aileen Mythen as Mrs. Griffin

Directors:Toby Genkel and Sean McCormack

MPAA Rating:G

Genres:Animation

Notes:May also be titled God's Little Creatures. Poster taken from AMC Theatres.

Pros:Good animation. Different spin on the story of Noah's ark.

Cons:Some bad characters and acting. Story has been done before. A forced lesson with no bearing on the plot.

What if an animal supposed to be onboard Noah's ark got left behind? This is the dilemma of Finny the nestrian (a colorful, fur-covered creature that's constantly migrating) and Leah the grymp (a grouchy mammal resembling a combination between a cat and a small dog). Meanwhile, Finny's panicking father and Leah's angry mother are trying to get past the unhelpful crew to find their lost kids.

Celebrate The Small Things:July

Here is a reminder that you survived the week.

  • First, I love movies.
  • Despite some idiots in our neighborhood, the 4th of July wasn't too bad.
  • Junk food (specifically the sugary kind). Even though it's bad for me.
  • I'm back to getting enough sleep after keeping an eye on the cute-but-obnoxious dog (who likes to get up much earlier than I do).
  • Comfy clothes too.
  • And making this list much longer than I was expecting.

Notes From My Roomates

The people I live with are a strange bunch indeed, as evidenced by a couple of messages left in the past week.

On the microwave

"Do Not Use
making scary noises w/lights + stuff"

On the computer when I woke up

"Went shoppping. Be back later. Poochie is in charge."

Poochie being our 14-year-old mutt.

Celebrate The Small Things:Time For July

We have made it another week.

  • Making it this far.
  • One of my cousin's kids had a birthday party over the weekend (and there was a waterslide). I didn't stay long, but it was fairly good.
  • Caffeine. Not that good for me, but it keeps me going.
  • A few nights off of krav maga. I like it, but a break is nice.
  • PopCap Games for making Peggle and Plants Vs. Zombies.

IWSG:July 1st

Honestly, I don't know what to say this month. A lot of the stress I've been dealing with recently is related more to jobs, pets, and sleep than to writing.
I need to go to bed earlier.

At this point, I'm not certain how the future will go. Where I'll be in a few months, how my time will be divided, whether I'll have gotten any better at managing it (ha).

On the bright side, the rest of this week looks as though it should be pretty mellow, so that'll give me some time to get a few things sorted out.
