Celebrate The Small Things:Back Into It

Between being out all day Sunday and then getting sick later in the week, I've been out of it. But hey, I'm doing better now and I get to visit all you friendly people. We're off to a decent start.

  • I'm catching up on some blog hops.
  • We moved some furniture on Saturday, and I've reached the point where I like it.
  • When the car wouldn't start to get us home Sunday, a friend of my brother's was gracious enough to drive some of us while the others rode in the tow truck.
  • Hot baths.
  • Fluffy pajama pants.
  • Today, I don't think I have much to do beyond the daily stuff, and I am grateful for that.

A List Of Lists (The Listing Fest entry)

Well, I couldn't pick any one list to post, so instead, here are some that I've got stashed away that are waiting to be added to.

  1. Reasons I wonder why the world as we know it hasn't ended
  2. Things I care about more than I want to
  3. Songs I would sing/write if I ever formed a band
  4. Story ideas based on particular songs and albums
  5. Bible verses as fiction-writing prompts
  6. Names that would work for superheroes or villains

Celebrate The Small Things:Making It

This has been the kind of week when you're just glad you made it. A week ago, a relative of mine died and we've been dealing with the aftermath and uncertainty about the future.

But they are always some little things to keep you going, such as....

  • blogs on Tumblr loaded with writing prompts.
  • video games again.
  • finally finishing that post about the trip I took last month.
  • snuggles with the puppy.

My September Trip

Well, it's been a month, but I finally finished writing about the trip I took back in September.

A trio that consisted of me, my mom, and one other relative went to stay with our cousin for a few days. The drive took six hours. Mom was behind the wheel the whole time while I was in the back seat handling snacks.

Day one was hanging around the house getting used to things. I met the dogs, claimed the bed the computer room, and found out the bathroom sink was designed for someone shorter than me, because I had to bend over or squat to reach the faucet.

I also got to sleep with the one-year old dog April jumping in and out of the bed all night (more on her in a bit).

Celebrate The Small Things:Count Your Blessings

  • Going to the beach and getting my feet in the sand.
  • Video games, and a decent post-apocalyptic setting.
  • Getting the puppy used to being out around people. We took him on a road trip over the weekend, and he took it relatively well.
  • Got into a better routine for writing, and it's been going well.

Celebrate The Small Things:Another Week

  • Puppies make life better, even if they like to bring in "treasures" from outside.
  • Sleep, as always.
  • Places to go this weekend.
  • Funny Tumblr blogs.
  • The people who commented on my IWSG post earlier this week. Thanks for the encouragement.

IWSG:What Am I Doing

Today is going to be a lot of rambling.

I've been a member of this blog hop for over a year and I have little to show for it. And finishing one of my stories then getting it published somewhere is going to take another couple years at least. I just might leave before too much longer, haven't made a decision yet.

And I've noticed a pattern where I feel fine for a couple weeks, everything's good, then I suddenly don't feel motivated to do much besides sit on the couch and stare at the TV for some time after that. I don't think it's depression, but it is messing things up for me. My current life can be summarized as "what am I doing?"

And I keep thinking and talking about getting off my butt and doing things, but it just doesn't happen.

In happier news, a friend is celebrating his birthday today. Which reminds me, I need to wrap his present.

Celebrate The Small Things:Oh Dang, It's October

  • A friend's car breaking down didn't result in any injury or other really bad situation.
  • Video games with a different friend.
  • I spent an entire day in pajama pants and a goofy T-shirt.
  • I felt sick earlier this week, but I'm doing better now.
  • It's finally starting to feel like fall around here. We even got some rain.

  • How are things on your end?
