Personal updates

First, I've got things going on in the next couple weeks that will take up a lot of my energy, so I'll be on hiatus until the second week of April.

Second, I signed up with Project Wonderful months ago, but it's barely making anything. I got a Patreon account, and I'm working on a creator page. But I don't know how many people will actually support it, so it's staying unpublished until I have some idea of that.

Finally, I'm switching most of my public accounts to this picture in one form or another.

You are still missed, baby.

What Intrusive Thoughts Are

Intrusive thoughts are strange and/or disturbing thoughts caused by mental illnesses such as anxiety disorders and OCD. Some of them are just weird, like eating something inedible. Others are disturbing and/or involve violence.

Like sometimes, I look at an object like a T-shirt or a vase and picture it being destroyed. It's not that I'm angry or I hate it; in fact, I often like the thing I'm looking at. But this is what my brain does.

It's also possible to have intrusive thoughts about things like suicide, self-harm, sex, and rape. Not fun in the frigging least.

It's important to point out most people don't want to act on their intrusive thoughts. Just thinking about driving your car into a tree, to give an example, doesn't mean you want to do it. It just happens because your brain is mean to you.

I'm still depressed, but feeling better at the moment. Whether this is the eye of the storm or if this particular depressive period is finally ending isn't clear yet.

In other news, one of my family members is getting married soon.

It has made me think I may not want to get married. I like the idea of a wedding, but the things I'm expected to do (personally greeting everyone in a large group of people, being the center of attention for an extended period of time) will aggravate my social anxiety disorder.

Oh, and one of the soon-to-be in-laws was kind enough to send me this.
